Its secret is the Multi-Dimensional Processing (MDP) technology

Roland’s innovative Multi-Dimensional Processing (MDP) technology analyzes audio signals and applies the ideal effect in every situation. According to the different dynamic and volume changes of the input signal, MDP can create bold, all-new sounds with a previously unattainable range of expression.

The TE-2 guitar pedal delivers innovative new ambience effects that inspire. Complex internal processing produces an incredibly deep and spacious sound, dramatically enhancing the straight guitar tone without overwhelming it. Through the TE-2’s simple, familiar stompbox controls and incredible sensitivity to your playing dynamics, an extremely wide range of sounds can be achieved. And with the expressive Freeze function, you can hold the current effect sound to create rich soundscapes for lead playing and sonic exploration.

Musician Land’s opinion

Premising that for the moment we have only watched the demo videos above, our opinion at Musician Land is that this delay guitar pedal sounds effectively new (even if we mistrust of Robert Marcello’s demos, because he would made sound good even wood strings 🙂 ) . The ambience effects that it generates recall obviously similitudes with reverbs and delays, but they are different, new, and the way it responds to the playing dynamics permits a wide expressiveness. Regard this we think that some “experimentation” time is necessary in order to know it and learn how to properly use it utilizing all its potential.

We think that it deserves to become part of your gear, even like an external complement to multi effect guitar pedals like BOSS GT-10, BOSS GT-100, Line 6, Zoom, etc. etc., even if in this configuration the stereo functionality that contributes for sure to the sound spatiality would be lost.

We reserve to try it live as soon as possible, and then express a more accurate judgment.
